The scoffing of hierarchy 

Instead of speaking from the heart, artists and especially art critics can over embellish language when writing about art works. Comments on signifiers, social references,  materials or composition are all interesting and welcome discussions. But the pressure and perhaps need to use pretentious and inaccessible academic language is a sign that they position themselves higher than others, putting self-importance before professionalism.
